Thanks Andre for helping us enjoy our wonderful South African experience. Nothing is too much trouble for you and to have you doing all the thinking and planning made it a very stress free holiday for us, it made a huge difference.

Just to let you know that we are back safe and sound in the UK after a pleasant journey home.
"Andre1" came with me on the plane to Jo'burg but travelled in the baggage hold for the long flight to Heathrow.  I am pleased to say that he arrived in one piece and is looking very happy in my hall at the moment.

During June 2002 it was our good fortune to be able to spend three great weeks touring South Africa with Andre.

From Cape Town and the garden route, seashores to mountain tops, to Johannesburg and the Kruger national park, all of our accommodations booked by Andre were outstanding. As were the many restaurants where we wined and dined.

We did not feel rushed during our tour like other tours we have taken. Andre scheduled many relaxing stops for lunches, shopping and just to smell the roses along the way.  Andre took great care to see our comfort and well being at all times which was greatly appreciated by both of us.

Andre is very knowledgeable about South Africa . He readily answered our many questions on all aspects of SA, including the countryside, the animal life and its interesting people. Indeed it was a wonderful and educational experience for us. We feel fortunate to have had Andre as our host and guide and now our friend on the most memorable tour we have ever taken and he gets our vote for South African tour Guide of the year. I am very sorry for not getting back to you sooner and keeping in touch.  To fill you in on what I have been up to since returning from our great trip to South Africa    NO I am not married yet (but I hear Chuck might be soon........).

YES I have reduced my weight to below 100kgs (after reducing my intake of  750 gram steaks, pies, cakes, chips, toasted sandwiches and chocolate bars)  My current weight is 95kgs.  NO I have not continued my practice of sleeping on the floor of the car. We all had a sensational trip. The photos turned out really well and the souvenirs are still getting use although it was many months ago.

 Strangely the other day I received an email from a bloke I met in the 80s pub at Durban who I caught up with in Brisbane before the game on Saturday night. He is from Jo burg - Good bloke.

Hope you are well and I promise to keep in better touch from now on.  Best wishes and thanks again for a great and memorable trip!!
