Soweto is the largest black city in Africa . Initially characterized by very poor infrastructure and lack of facilities, it is rapidly being upgraded and changed into a modern city. Soweto was the middle point of the 1976 riots, which can be seen as the starting of change within South Africa .  

The fully guided tour focuses on Soweto during the morning, including all the major points of interest, including Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital and Taxi rank (the largest in Africa),Walter Sisulu Square of Dedication, an informal market, Regina Mundi Church, Hector Peterson Memorial & Museum, the informal settlements, the hostels, Nelson Mandela’s home, Vilikazi Street, and more.

The Apartheid Museum conveys the history of South Africa before, during and after Apartheid. The museum has excellent displays of these eras, as well as fascinating video footage of events such as the Rivonia trial, the uprisings and rioting, the state of emergency, interviews with a young Nelson Mandela operating underground, first democratic elections, and many more.

Full day tour to the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site
 

The Cradle of Humankind of one 6 South African World Heritage sites, and is fast becoming one of the most visited attractions in the country. This tour focuses on the discovery of mankind. After a scenic drive into the countryside on the western outskirts of Johannesburg , visitors will visit two facilities.  

Firstly we visit the Sterkfontein Caves , which lies in the Sterkfontein Valley .  The caves are home to the world-renowned fossils of “Little Foot” and “Mrs. Ples”, as well as other important paleo-antropological discoveries. The tour includes a guided trip down into the caves showing you the underground lake, stalactites, brimstone etc.  

After enjoying lunch overlooking the scenic valley surrounding the caves, we take a short drive towards the Maropeng visitors centre. (Maropeng means “returning to the place of origin”)

The Tumulus contains a vast underground visitor attraction incorporating a sensory extensive display which immerses visitors in touching, hearing, feeling, seeing and experiencing the unique history of humankind. It includes a real fossil display area.
Within the visitor attraction lies an exciting 4-billion-year journey on an underground lake, through the elemental forces – water, air, fire and earth – dipping through waterfalls and real icebergs, into the eye of an storm, past erupting volcanoes and through the depth's of the earth and emerging at the beginning of the world.

From here, the journey continues through an experience highlighting the history of our world and humankind as a species, brought to life via audiovisual techniques, evocative sounds effects, theme-park technology and theatrical displays.  

After spending quality time at Maropeng, we take another scenic drive back towards Johannesburg .

Lesedi Cultural Village experience:
 

Travel from the city toward the scenic valleys surrounding the Hartebeespoort Dam, which lies amongst the Magaliesberg Mountain range. Here guests will have the opportunity to visit some African Craft Markets. After spending time bartering in the markets, the trip continues around the dam again, via another scenic road towards the Lesedi Cultural Village .  

Here the experience starts with a guided tour through the traditional villages of the Zulu, Ndebele, Sotho, Pedi and Xhosa people. This is followed by various energetic and traditional African dances and music. This is followed by the “Nayama Choma”, where guests can feast on traditional dishes from around the African continent, followed by more music and dancing.

Full day tour of Tshwane ( Pretoria ) and surrounds
 

Tour with us through the city of Tshwane (Pretoria), the capital of South Africa and the city of Jacarandas. The City Centre is rich in historical architecture, and many of the magnificent buildings will be visited.  Guest will visit the Voortrekker Monument , Paul Kruger’s House, Church Square and the Union Buildings with its well maintained gardens and sweeping lawns.  

During the month of October, Jacaranda trees throw a blanket of mauve over the city. The city boasts with superb shopping centres, museums, art galleries, entertainment centres and restaurants. There are also many beautiful parks, Bird sanctuaries, Nature Reserves, the Pretoria Zoological Gardens and the Botanical Gardens which have more than 5000 indigenous plant species.

Full day tour to Pilanesberg National Park
 

This malaria free national park is approximately 2 hours drive from Johannesburg . Pilanesberg conserves all the major mammal species including cheetah, lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo. The park also has a wide diversity of other animal species, including most antelope species, 350 Bird species, 54 reptile species as well as very interesting insect and plant life. 

An early morning departure ensures good viewing. After a two hour drive from the hotel, enter the park for a day of viewing the rich biodiversity of this unique national park.  

The drive through the park includes stops where guests can disembark from the vehicles, and view animals from various protected look-out points and bird hides. We also visit the Pilanesberg Visitor Centre, where lunch will be enjoyed.

During the mid morning, brunch will be enjoyed at the Pilanesberg Visitor Centre, before departing to the exit of the park. A short 10 minute drive brings guests to the entrance of Sun City .
