Kruger National Park and the Panorama Route Kruger National Park is seen as the top tourist attraction in South Africa. The park is 2 000 000 hectares (19 685 square Km) and forms part of the Kruger Trans-Frontier Park with neighbouring countries. The park has large species diversity, such as: 114 Reptiles, 1980 Plants, 404 Trees and Shrubs, 224 types of Grass, 147 Mammals, 52 Fish, 517 Birds and 35 Amphibians. The density of permanent game is unrivalled, and provides visitors with unbelievable sights and sounds of the variety on view. On route to Kruger, the Panorama Route offers visitors the opportunity to view some of the most beautiful and natural wonders of South Africa, such as the Blyde River Canyon (3rd largest in world), Bourke’s Luck Potholes, Gods Window and many more. The landscape and climate changes continuously from high lying open grasslands, to mountainous forests and low lying Bushveld area. Accommodation varies from basic self catering chalets in the park, to top lodges and guesthouses in and bordering the park. The suggested trips all vary according to budget limitations, but any combination can be made up. Various trips can be done to the area, ranging from 3 days to 10 days, or combinations thereof. Trips can also start and end at Kruger Mpumalanga Airport, to connect with flights to or from Johannesburg or other South African destinations. Please keep in mind that Kruger falls within a Malaria area. Guests are advised to use Malaria Prophylactics and Mosquito repellent, and to consult with a travel doctor before arrival.
