Lush gardens, tropical birds and water features give The Cascades its sophistication and elegance. Bakabung Bush Lodge offers an out of Africa experience. Built in the shape of a horseshoe, the lodge offers a huge range of entertainment activities- from a natural hewn swimming pool to flood light tennis courts, outdoor chess and beach volleyball.  

Each of the lodge’s 76 rooms has been appropriately decorated to reflect the mood and ambience of the bush and is equipped to ensure supreme comfort. Each room includes individual air conditioning, DSTV (satellite television), direct dial telephones and coffee/tea making machines.   

Itinerary:  

Day 1

Departure from Johannesburg towards Sun City . On route, there is opportunity to stop at a typical African Craft Market. Check into Sun City Cascades Hotel for 2 nights. Spend the afternoon exploring this vast resort, or tee off for the first round of golf.  

Day 2 

Guests own activities, which can include golf, or any one of the following other activities.

·          The Health Spa is the perfect setting to relax and enjoy a wide range of treatments.

·          The Outdoor Adventure Centre offers an African outdoor adventure, including Quad Bike adventure trails,      clay target shooting, archery and drum circles

·          The Valley has a diverse eco-system which includes the Lost City Botanical Gardens , indigenous rain      forest, wetlands and dry savannah. Wander through the 25 hectare Garden - a vast landscaping project      consisting of more than 1.6-million trees, plants, shrubs and ground covers of which there are 3 200         different species.

·          The Cultural Village at Sun City pays tribute to the lifestyles of eight of South Africa 's tribal groups and      is intended to afford visitors the opportunity to experience at first hand the traditions, food, arts and          crafts of South African cultures including Tswana , Venda , Pedi, Zulu, Ndebele, Xhosa, Shangaan and          Ntwana.

Day 3 

After a relaxing breakfast, check out of the hotel for a short transfer to the Bakabung Bush Lodge, situated within the Pilansberg Game Reserve. The luxury rooms are well positioned around a watering hole, so guests can view the animals drinking from their own private balcony.   

Relax at the lodge before departing on a late afternoon/evening game drive on open air vehicles, accompanied by experienced nature guides. Arrive back at the lodge to enjoy a traditional South African Buffet meals.  On Wednesdays and Saturdays these meals may be a traditional Bush Braai (barbecue) in the reserve.  

Day 4

Guest own activities at the lodge, including morning and evening game drives.  

Day 5

Last game drive into the park. Return to the lodge to enjoy a scrumptious South African breakfast. Depart from the Pilansberg Reserve for another scenic drive back towards Johannesburg . A different route will be followed, with different views and places of interest along the route.  Arrival in Johannesburg in the mid afternoon.  

Add-on value:

An interesting excursion that can be added to the trip is a visit to the Lesedi Cultural Village on the way back from Sun City / Bakabung. Here the experience starts with a guided tour through the traditional villages of the Zulu, Ndebele, Sotho, Pedi and Xhosa people. This is followed by various energetic and traditional African dances and music. This is followed by the “Nayama Choma”, where guests can feast on traditional dishes from around the African continent, followed by more music and dancing. After a wonderful meal, guest’s have a last opportunity to visit the village market before we continue back to Johannesburg .
